Mr. S. Rajagopal served in the Singapore Police Force since 1959, rose to the senior rank of Superintendent of Police and retired from active service on 30 December 1995.

He has performed Police duties, specializing in Criminal Investigation and Intelligence gathering. He also served on the permanent staff of the Intelligence Service of the Government of Singapore.

The specialty he attained in the secret service was Counter Terrorism, Espionage and Counter Espionage and the illegal transference of technologies. He served 28 years exclusively with the Intelligence Service and acquired a vast "hands-on" experience in the following fields:

• Explosives / Bomb and Blast Investigations / Analysis.
• Anti-Terrorism and Hostage Negotiation.

State and Police Awards

1974	State Award / Public Service Medal (P.B.M.) by the President of Singapore.
1982	High Commendation for Outstanding Work in Connection with the Preservation of Public Security, presented by the Commissioner of Police.
1985	Commendation for Outstanding Good Work done in Connection with the Preservation of Public Security, presented by the Commissioner of Police.
1990	Public Administration Bronze Medal (P.P.A.), presented by the President of Singapore.
1995	Good Service Medal presented by the Commissioner of Police.
